Hello there poker fans, this is your favorite poker reporter Cliff “Runner Runner Chaser” McDougal and im coming to you live from my ex-wife’s basement. You would think that throwing me out and giving me a restraining order would stop me from being around her. But it’s my belief that you just need to keep working on your relationship and if that doesn’t work, you break in to her house and watch her sleep.
So it’s the last game of the season and championship run is tighter than a virgin after 12 shots of tequila. After watching Mike’s epic collapse last tourney it comes down to Jeff T, Dan L and Mike. There are a few others on the outside looking in. Its just like their lives back in high school trying to hang out with the cool crowd, no one cares and people just pretend they’re not there.
But let’s talk about the top 3
Mike is just over 2 minutes away from taking over the average minute’s title and he doesn’t look to be slowing down. His play has been erratic and somewhat crazy. But that’s his playing style and the more rye he has, the better he feels about catching cards. Mike also has the chance to become the first back to back champion in the BBPT, this would cement his legacy as not only the player with the greatest alcohol tolerance but as one of (if not) the greatest player of all time.
Jeff T has become that ugly girl that always seems to be there and takes your wallet when you’re not looking. He calls when he shouldn’t, makes up math equations to justify his play and you never know what he is thinking. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t either if we are being honest. Yet he has been in the top ten since he started and tied for 4th last year. I can’t bet against this guy to win it all, I also can’t bet him to win it all either. That has more to do with a Mexican whorehouse and my cash flow than it does about his skill. That’s a story for another day today. If Jeff wins it all, we here instead of yelling “I’m going to Disney land”, he’s going to yell “Darryl this is why I have always been the favorite son:”
Dan L has been silently sitting in the background and moving up the ladder with no one noticing. Now some say this is because of his bullshit dealing and catching cards, some say tis because people are worried that if they beat him that he will beat them up and some feel that the cards are finally going his way. I would have to agree with all of the above (fucking river and that fucking 3rd king). But this isn’t about me so I will move on. Its expected Dan will trying to push the table around and exert his will onto the less fortunate. Think of this like prison and the players at table are the newbies and its shower time.
So who will win? I’m not sure, but with one one Champion to be crowned, there will be two going home with nothing more than broken dreams and thoughts of what could have been.
Just remember that
