Often imitated but can’t be duplicated. Mike’s drunken monkey style has brought on a surge of copy cats this season who are trying to mimic the master, but it’s turning into a disaster.
Last tournament the shitabyss hit shitacular proportions as drunken poker was taken to new heights. Some ended up dry heaving in the bathroom, while others blew chunks in the passenger side going down the QEW. A real shit storm.
“This isn’t just one tournament that drunk play is happening,” a tour member explained.
“Tournament after tournament drunken losers are sitting in the loser lounge sipping obscure named tall boys and drinking amaretto out of bubba kegs. It’s like these guys are trying toe drag and dangle with a wooden stick. It’s embarrassing.”
“And this is the problem. No one can drink and play like Mike. Everyone wants to be like Mike, but there’s only one Mike,” another member added.
But who really cares, right? Everyone is having fun. Good times are being had. And that’s all that matters. In this writer’s opinion, nothing’s better than Bobby and Jeff laying down zinger after zinger of material for the newly created but rarely updated BBPT podcast.
But as the suds soak into our blood stream, giving us a euphoric sense of happiness, we could be missing the greatest moment in BBPT tour history. “Be like Mike.” More like “let’s watch Mike.” Mr. Vandelay is making a case as the greatest player in BBPT tour history. And it might be a long time until we see another player quite like him.
Look what he’s accomplished half way through the season: 1st place in the standings, leading in wins on the year, leading in knockouts on the year, leading in average minutes on the year, tied for first at final tables on the year, leading in most cashes on year. And most impressive. He’s done this all even while missing one tournament. He’s 100% at final tables!
He has a chance in to become the first ever Back 2 Back champion. He has a chance to go down in history as the greatest on a style that he created! But, there’s just one thing about chances. “They may never come again!”

We are in the midst of greatness! And drunkenness!
