‘You gotta hashtag that!’

denleySince its humble begnings the tour has never been able to steer clear of controversy. Like Terrell Owens doing crunches on his driveway, the tour thrives on the absurdity of the spectacle. Who could forget these moments which all happened when the cards were folded.

#ArmBandsForNapper – Rumbling around the league had caused some debate around some players that BBPT alumni David Napper be kicked out of the league due to his tardiness at tournaments. Some players formed a Band of Brothers moment that saw arm bands in solidarity of keeping the Niagara app mogul around. He played one more year, before retiring for good.

#SalsaClass – Who could forget Jay. The punchline to almost every joke in the league, the salsa class incident will forever be cemented in the BBPT story. As legend goes, Jay told Chris D he couldn’t make a tournament one month due to Salsa dance lesson he was taking. Following that admission Jay’s attendance dwindle and many began to question his commitment to the league. Was salsa really more important than poker? The last straw was finally snapped when Jay “promised” he would be there but no showed to the event where his stack was blinded out. This spawned the Salsa Rule: players must be present in order to participate in an event.

#NoBunsBryan – It was winter and the league was looking for some good ol’ fashion comfort food to fend on the bitter blues brought on by the cold. The first six players to approach the spread were pleasantly satisfied. As for the rest of the league, they had to settle for leaf wrapped sandwiches. Some believe Bryan was trying to tell the league they should be on Atkins, while other conclude that he must have been protesting something at his local grocery store. “$1.99 for buns?!”

#Chipgate – The singular biggest fuck up in BBPT history, which ended up with the wrong chip denominations for the tour. To this day, we’re unsure of whom to blame. But if history has taught us anything it’s never listen to Chris D no matter how deep he looks into someone’s eyes. But more important, history has taught us that someone will listen to Chris D despite all reasonable logic.

#CupCurse – It’s started with Adam and has now spread to Chris D. Chris generally sits higher up in the standings, but this year he’s battling for last place with Pete and “No draft pick trades this year” Adam.

#OpenDoorShits – This rule was grandfathered into the league as the event happened well before the leagues creation. However, it’s often reminded to all players to close the door if you have to use the bathroom.
