In our fifth season, The Tour has welcomed three more players — the biggest expansion in the league’s history. Who are these players? Are they sharks? Are they guppies? As the season unfolds their play will give us answers, but until that happens, here’s what their recruiters have to say.

Chris B
Darren’s take: I think he will either be playing the recorder or drinking from the cup or somewhere in between by season end. Chris has over 20 years experience playing casino cash games. He needs to shake off his rust as he hasn’t played in 4 years.

Jeff T
Phil’s take: Jeff’s entering the BBPT for his first season amid much controversy as to how he got the nomination.  While its true he worked with fellow BBPT player Phil Ertsenian over 15 years ago flipping Burgers at McDonald’s, it turns out he is the older brother of last years newcomer Daryl Timko.  Back then Jeff was a quiet reserved guy which might translate well to a poker player.  If the rumours that his brother speak are true of Jeff being a semi-pro poker player, then he may just be the next to take over where his brother left off and be the next rookie to cash in his 1st season.  The BBPT just hopes that this is one of the few traits the Timko brothers share and that Jeff does not tun out to be a chip Nazi like his brother.

Peter O
Adam’s take: Adam obviously doesn’t think much of Pete as he couldn’t be bothered to write anything about him. To add insult to injury, Adam won’t be attending The Tour’s first game, putting Peter in the awkward position of sitting at a table with people he hasn’t met before. Awkward.
