BBPT best bets

We think it’s save to say that we have finally played enough hands in poker to provide some credible analysis.  Over the last four seasons we have seen our share of great hands, bad beats, and terrible calls.  Here’s a look at who you’ll have to watch out for this season.

The Top Dawg

Kyle –  The two time BBPT champion is the only player to stay in the top 3 in the last four seasons.  A leader in most career wins and KOs, Kyle demonstrates he’s a dangerous competitor who can eliminate his competition or outlast them. However, his 3rd place finish last season is the worst in his BBPT career and he hasn’t won a tournament since Oct 2012. Could this be the beginning of his fall from the top?

Hot hands

Adam – The season 4 winner is coming off his most impressive season to date.  Adam managed to attend only 7 tournaments last season and 4 of those were top 3 finishes. However, his other three finishes were low indicating some big swings in his playing style. If he can attend more events this season, it might increase his chances for back-to-back championships.

Dan L. – He was aggressive as hell early on last season which allowed him to have three consecutive top 2 finishes. As the season wore on, Dan L., seemed to lose his focus ending up with a second place finish which could have easily been number 1. If Dan L., can keep up his aggressiveness for a whole season, he could be drinking from the cup this year.

Darryl –  The rookie’s calculated playing style last season took the league by surprise ending in the money with a fourth play finish. With only two top three finishes, Darryl gained most of his points staying consistent, making the final table seven our of ten tournaments.

Wildcard

Sean –  Was it Denley’s headgames that got to Sean last season?  After two consecutive disappointing seasons, it’s hard to believe the Sean has what it takes anymore to win the tour. As the only other BBPT Tour winner, Sean has already demonstrated he can compete.  It’s a make or break year for the former Boogies Diner star.

Muckers

Mike – Mike has one song playing over and over in head. The point leader for the majority of last season, Mike fizzled out and landed in fifth place. In his last three tournaments he managed 10,9,8 finishes.  Mike could change things this season for the better, but we believe his chance has come and gone. Don’t worry Mike, there’s always Pancake Rye!

Danny R. – After an embarrassment of a season last year, some are wondering if Danny will even return to the green felt. A fall from grace so unbelievable, it belongs in Aesop’s fables. Danny’s only hope might be that the players around him play worse that he does.
